Call for papers CITI7

Seventh Translation and Interpreters Conference CITI 7
First Notice

The Autonomous University of Baja California (UABC) through the Faculty of Languages summons professionals to the seventh edition of CITI 7, the Translation and Interpretation Conference, where specialists may exhibit their work according to the interest sections proposed for 2016.

CITI 7 creates a relevant interval where new boundaries in translation may be explored. These boundaries need not be confined to the theoretical or methodological position of a science or discipline but, may include new perceptions which nourish the fields of translation and interpretation. That particular point of view encompasses all submissions which support our field of discipline.

Likewise, concerns will optimistically result in the creation of new guidelines for the translation process based on groundbreaking theories emerging from the Latin American and border region, including Baja and the city of Ensenada, a geographic location where cultural mobility is relevant to the creation of new theoretical and methodological niches trending from the Anglo-American, Mexican, Hispanic, and Indigenous standpoint. Because any identity fits into this Conference, we are committed to multicultural integration.

Therefore, undergraduate, graduate, postgraduate students, professors, researchers, & specialists are invited to participate and contribute to the realization of the newest emission of CITI7. All participants must submit proposals under the following topics:

  1. Specialized translation (medical, legal, etc.)
  2. ICT, translation & interpretation
  3. Terminology and lexicology
  4. Literary translation
  5. Audiovisual translation
  6. Professional employability and marketing
  7. Translation and interpretation of Indigenous languages
  8. Didactics and curriculum design
  9. Linguistic & translation policies
  10. Hermeneutics, semiotics & discussion about translation
  11. Deontology

Conference languages: Spanish & English; other proposed foreign and indigenous languages will be considered for review.
