Universidad Autónoma de Baja California on behalf of the School of Languages, welcomes you to the 2016 Translation and Interpretation Conference: CITI7.
This Conference was conceived to provide a forum for the university community to share works of academic significance. Your participation in this event is an example of the commitment and professionalism of the translation and interpretation processes, and its related topics.
The School of Languages, Ensenada Campus, is the host of the seventh edition of the CITI Conference. Following the thematic areas, the diverse theoretical and methodological perspectives exposed will contribute to the growth of these disciplinary fields, opening a space to specialized translation (medical, legal, etc.) , ITC in translation and interpretation, terminology and lexicology, literary translation, audiovisual translation, job opportunities and marketing, indigenous languages translation and interpretation, Didactic and Curriculum Design, Linguistic Policies and Translation, Semiotic Hermeneutics, Translation Discourse and Deontology.
These thematic areas do not limit the wide field of translation but synthesize where translation and interpretation are heading for.
The Translation and Interpretation Conference CITI7 will have the participation of field experts from national and international renowned universities whose contributions are essential to create a scientific forum, allowing the discussion of new trends in the field of translation from a multidisciplinary approach. Translation is nurture by several theories derived from Applied Linguistics, Semiotics, Hard Sciences, Literature, Law, Technology, Didactics, Pedagogy, Philosophy and Theology. Thus, the CITI7 slogan refers to new frontiers of translation and interpretation, with the objective of broadening the roads of translation processes from an eclectic stand, and as a complex system with a starting point in science diversity, to find solutions and new proposals that sustain the disciplinary field.
The Academic Bodies of Applied Linguistics, Curriculum and Didactics, Language Technology and Innovation, Translation and Interpretation Studies, the Translation Faculty, and the administrative personnel, are deeply honored by your attendance.
Finally, I would like to express my gratitude to the Organizing Committee of the School of Languages, to the students, teachers and administrative personnel, for making this important event possible for the academic life of Higher Education Institutions.
