She holds a B.A. in French from the Universidad Veracruzana, a Master in Psychopedagogy from Universidad de La Habana, and a Ph.D. in International Education from the Centro de Excelencia of the Universidad de Tamaulipas.

She has been a research professor of the Universidad de Quintana Roo since 1996 and a member of the Researchers National System. She teaches in the B.A in English and the Master in Education in the areas of educational technology, English language teaching, French, research methods, educational technology and theories of education.

Her research work focuses on pedagogical beliefs, epistemological beliefs, beliefs about language learning, educational technology, and the state of the art of the research in foreign languages. She has presented papers in academic events and published articles and chapters of books in these topics.

Ms. Reyes is a member of the Mexican Educational Research Council (COMIE), the National Foreign Language Teachers Association (SONAPLES), and the Foreign Language Researchers Network (RILE). She coordinates the Linguistic Studies and Higher Education Academic Group.
